VAS Promotions Ltd Research Why Goal Setting is Vital to Success
In a recent workshop with young sales and marketing professionals, VAS Promotions Ltd shared research into the power of goal setting and outlined the valuable role it plays in future success.
The firm’s business development opportunity is open to individuals with little or no work experience, as well as people with experience looking for a new and exciting opportunity to showcase their talent and take on a challenge. VAS Promotions Ltd provide voluntary opportunities for aspiring professionals to discover the fundamentals of sales and marketing, as well as to learn about business management, including financial planning, reviewing industry and consumer trends, leadership skills and how to approach and form professional relationships with clients and consumers.
In their most recent seminar, the firm shared their research into goal setting and why all professionals need to set goals if they are to be successful. The 1979 Harvard MBA study on goal setting analysed a graduating class to determine how many had set goals and had a plan for their attainment. The class were asked a single question about their goals in life. The question was this: Have you set written goals and created a plan for their attainment? Prior to graduation, it was determined that 84% of the class had set no goals at all, 13% had set written goals but had no concrete plans, and 3% of the class had both written goals and concrete plans. Ten years later, the 13% of the class that had set written goals but had not created plans were making twice as much money as the 84% of the class that had set no goals at all. What’s more, the 3% of the class that had both written goals and a plan were making ten times as much as the rest of the of the class.
VAS Promotions Ltd have taken the research as inspiration for their workshop on goal setting. The conference taught on the importance of a range of tactics, including visualisation techniques, implementing daily tasks to a big picture plan, and minimising goals to maximise payoff. The firm aims to help young professionals expand their knowledge and industry skill through its regular workshops and insightful seminars. Their Development Opportunity not only gives candidates the opportunity to learn new skills to aid them in business but also encourages personal goal setting, to contribute to individual growth.
